        Workers Destroy Nuclear Plant 

Workers destroy the cooling towers of a nuclear plant. A nuclear plant makes electricity from atomic energy. The plant is near Karlsruhe, Germany.
The demolition happens on Thursday morning. Many people like to watch demolitions. However, people do not know the date of the demolition. Officials do not say the date.
They worry that many people will come. It is not safe. The coronavirus is in Germany.
Workers must take away 500,000 tons of material. The plan is to finish the work by 2029.Germany wants to close all nuclear plants by 2022. The German government says that atomic energy is not good. The country wants to get electricity from wind and from the sun.
Difficult words: cooling tower (a tower that makes water cold), atomic energy (energy that comes from atoms; an atom is the tiniest thing that all things are made out of), demolition (when people destroy something).

News 17 Tired eyes The coronavirus is in many countries. People must stay in their homes. They spend a lot of time in front of their TV or computer. It is not good for the eyes. Experts say that our eyes can get tired. We do not  blink  so often when we  stare  at a screen. Our eyes get dry and red. We cannot see well. We have headaches. It is good to follow a 20-20-20 rule. When we look at a screen for 20 minutes, we should look away for 20 seconds. It is good to look at something 20 feet away. Then our eyes can relax. Reading glasses can also help.  Eye drops  help tired eyes, too. Difficult words:  blink  (to close and open the eyes quickly),  stare  (when we look at something for a long time, and our eyes do not move),  eye drops  (medicine that people put in their eyes).
